Xylene is a clear, flammable, volatile aromatic, transparency hydrocarbon liquid. It can be dissolved with alcohol, vegetable oil and most other organic solvents but insoluble in water. It consists essentially of the ortho, meta, para xylene isomers of ethylbenzene. Xylene is used primarily as a solvent for paints, pesticides, rubbers, natural resins and synthetic resins, producing ink, adhesives...
