Sec Butyl Acetate and uses

Sec-Butyl acetate, or s-Butyl Acetate, 2-Butyl Acetate (SBAC) is a transparent, moderately volatile, flammable liquid with a sweet smell. SBAC is one of 3 isomers of n-Buty Acetate, the other 2 isomers are isobutyl Acetate and tert- Butyl Acetate. SBAC is soluble in organic solvents such as Ethanol, 2-Propanol, 1-Butanol, Benzene, Acetone, Chloroform, methylene chloride, ... but not soluble or slightly soluble in water. S-Butyl Acetate is widely used in: used as a solvent for painting & coating, nitrocellulose, printing inks, adhesives, intermediates for pharmaceutical manufacture, synthetic flavorings, synthetic resin, quick-drying agent for pptical materials and other applications.
