N-Butyl Acetate and uses

N-Butyl acetate, or Butyl Acetate, normal-Butyl Acetate (BAC) is transparent colorless liquid, medium volatility and characteristic sweet ester odor. BAC has 3 isomers: isobutyl Acetate, tert-Butyl Acetate, sec-Butyl Acetate. BAC dissolves organic solvents such as alcohols, ketones, aldehyde, ether, glycol ether, but not soluble or very slightly soluble in water. It has many uses as a solvent in the paint industry, plastics, printing inks, adhesives, use as a component of pharmaceuticals, detergents, food flavorings.
